Millennium Collaborative Care and Community Partners of WNY (CPWNY) are partnering together to further promote MEB Health in the 8 county region of Western New York to children, youth, and adults.

The 2009 Institute of Medicine report concluded that there is increasing evidence that promoting positive mental health aspects is an important approach to reducing MEB disorders and related problems.  The best opportunity to improve the public’s mental health and prevent further development is through the delivery of preemptive interventions like those in the MEB project.

With a strong collaboration between Millennium and CPWNY, the MEB project will support and facilitate quality improvement of evidence based practices.  It will also identify and implement evidence based practices and environmental strategies that promote MEB well-being and healthy lifestyles.  The desired outcome will be reduced rates of prescription drug abuse, child and adult depression, substance abuse and suicide.

Prevention, early intervention, and a focus on protective factors that enhance positive mental health can help foster the well-being of people of all ages.
