As far back as she can remember, Pepper Forte, RPA-C, has wanted to help people heal.
She pursued this calling at the State University of New York at Stonybrook where she earned her degree in the Physician’s Assistant program; and then launched a lengthy career as a PA at several area hospitals including Buffalo General Hospital and the former Sheehan Memorial Hospital. Most recently, she serves as a Physician’s Assistant at the Heartbeat Center of Western New York, a group practice specializing in Cardiovascular Disease, and Internal Medicine.
“Working as a Physician’s Assistant, I came to realize that medicine was not enough to really heal people,” she explained. “What people needed — and what really helped them get better — was education on the critical role of food in their health.”
This experiential insight led Coach Pepper (as she is known by her clients) in 2011 to found The Wellness Institute of Western New York located at 962 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. In addition to her extensive knowledge as a long-time Physician’s Assistant, Coach Pepper holds A Plant Based Professional Culinary Certification through the ROUXBE Culinary School; and is a member of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
Today, she works with clients from across Western New York, specializing in hands-on education including a 12-week Plant-based Immersion Program; organic gardening; individual coaching and counseling; and Advocate Group activities. Coach Pepper is a BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York Wellness Vendor and can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org
In an effort to continue to support whole food, plant-based eating; and continue to share information on the numerous “healthy eating” resources across the Western New York region; Millennium invites our website readers to learn more in the following video discussions with Coach Pepper; and to take a “photo tour” of The Wellness Institute of Western New York.
